My wife and I have been using both the far more expensive and better built Oral B and Phillips Sonicare electric brushes for several years now, and have been quite satisfied with them.So when I saw this very budget priced Teetheory rotating tooth brush at such a ridiculously low price, my curiosity was piqued and I had to try it.How could this thing possibly compare? What is nice (and different) is that this Teetheory toothbrush comes with a total of 8 brush heads, which should last you for a year or two, depending on how hard you brush your teeth. It's also nice to know that this TEETHEORY toothbrush can use brushes from the Oral B line of toothbrushes - which is a huge plus. Now, do keep in mind that most of these Asian-made, inexpensive electric USB powered toothbrushes come with additional brush heads in the box. However, once you use them all up, the manufacturers do "not" carry additional brushes and you are then forced to throw your brush away.In the case of this TEETHEORY you can at least purchase additional brush heads from Oral B as the heads will fit quite nicely - however, the branded Oral B brushes (usually 4-6 in a box), can cost anywhere fromm $49.95 tp $69.95, depending on where you purchase them - a ridiculous price that is 3-5 times more than the Teetheory brush with 8 extra heads alone. So yes, once you run out, it would be much cheaper to just purchase a new TEETHEORY brush with extra heads. How easy is it to charge and get setup?Mine came fully charged, but just in case, I plugged it in for an entire night, but the red light was still on in the morning.I guess they don't use a green light at all to signal when it is fully charged - unless mine is defective, who knows.Charging is a simple scenario, just plug one end of the USB cable into the bottom of the toothbrush, and the other end into a USB outlet. There is no stand, and thus you just have to lay your toothbrush down parallel to the countertop. When I first turned it on, it was noticeably louder than more expensive, competing electric toothbrushes, but that in no way affected its performance.I must add however, that the motor inside this TEETHEORY USB brush is not as strong as many competing models. If you hold the brush even a bit too snug against your teeth, the brush stops, and releasing the added pressure against your teeth, the brush turns on again.Compare this with the far more expensive branded Oral B brushes where if too much pressure is applied, a light comes on, giving you the hint to back off a bit.The toothbrush does quite well when it comes to brushing. You have several settings that you can use by just pushing the on/off button until you come to your selection. Now why did I give this thing 5 stars? My initial review wound up only giving it 3 stars, but since that time I changed my attitude about it.Considering how little this TEETHEORY brush costs - and the fact that it comes with a total of 8 brushes - and coupled with its ability to provide the clean results that you're looking for, I changed my rating to the full 5 stars. And when you compare the ridiculously high prices for various Oral B and Sonicare brushes, this TEETHEORY model acquits itself quite well.Highly recommended given all that it does, the extra brushes, and the price comparison with the far more expensive big boys.
This toothbrush is wonderful, I bought it for my husband and he was fascinated with its functions, it has 4 modes and comes with 8 heads so he can use it for a long time. My husband always had a hard time looking for a toothbrush that would work for him and this one met all his expectations, excellent value for money and quality, not to mention that it arrived super fast.
I was looking for replacement heads for my electric toothbrush but when I came across this and saw that it was only a few dollars more than replacements, I decided it wasn't a bad idea to have a second toothbrush on hand.I also wanted to try one with the rotating brush.I have had the toothbrush for about 2 months now.Though I still occasionally use my Fairywill, I am still impressed with the fact that I haven't had to recharge it yet. That said, the brush itself is not the best quality. It has already splayed a bit.The toothbrush is a little bigger and fatter than I am used to but it is still comfortable enough to hold.It feels sturdy enough but not too heavy. The matte black finish is nice but I discovered that if you aren't careful about cleaning it right away, it can be a little difficult to clean later.I need to clean it right away because the brush is so big. With my Fairywill, I could walk around my apartment while brushing but with the Teetheory I need to stay by the sink.I guess my mouth isn't as big as some people think.LOLYes, as others have mentioned, the toothbrush is noisy but I have never had an electric toothbrush that wasn't.My teeth feel clean after using the toothbrush.I use it mainly on whiten and other than the massage option, I'm not sure how much of a difference the other options make.Unlike some other brushes that claim to rotate but really just go back and forth, this really does rotate. As with other toothbrushes I have used, there is a brief 'blip' every 30 seconds to remind you to move to another area of your mouth and it shuts off after 2 minutes so you know you have brushed long enough.I find it very odd that there are no replacement brushes.Someone said that there are Oral-B brushes that are compatible but those are expensive. When the time comes that I need them, I will either try to find the right less expensive Oral-B compatible brushes or buy a new toothbrush (not Teetheory).Decent toothbrush but I probably wouldn't buy it again.
